Struggling to pay

To give us the best chance of helping, you should contact us as soon as you think you're going to have a problem paying your bill.

We may be able to reduce what you have to pay; for example, you may qualify for a discount you didn't know about or you might qualify for Council Tax Benefit. We may also be able to agree a different timetable for making payments.

If we don’t know you're having problems paying, we will continue with recovery action and you could end up having to pay a lot more.

Independent Advice

You might benefit from some independent advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau. The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice. You can go to their website for more information.
