Environmental Protection
The Environmental Protection service at East Lindsey District Council deals with a wide range of issues. They aim to ensure improved individual and community health and well-being for residents, visitors and businesses in the area. This is achieved by offering advice, education and enforcing environmental protection legislation within the District.
A dedicated team of officers carry out the following functions:
- Investigating service requests regarding noise, air pollution, odour, dust, accumulations, drainage etc
- Licensing of caravan sites and investigation of complaints and routine inspections
- Routine inspections, renewal, variations and new permits for Local Authority Pollution Prevention and Control (LAPPC) and Local Authority Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (LA-IPPC)
- Implementation of the contaminated land strategy and related enquiries
- Administration of the Local Air Quality Management scheme
- Consultations for planning applications
- Consultations for Public Entertainment Licences
- Organise burials where there are no relatives
- Organise education through health promotion Initiatives
- Pest control service
