Cook and Taste sessions in a bid to change eating habits on the coast

COOK and Taste sessions will be taking place at the Tesco Store on Richmond Drive in Skegness, in a bid to encourage people to eat more healthily.

Run by East Lindsey District Council in conjunction with Tesco, the Council’s Food For Life Officer, Martin Walmsley, will demonstrate how healthy eating can be simple and tasty.

The sessions will take place each Friday between 11am and 3pm starting on March 14. Depending on success more sessions may be added in the coming weeks.

Chef Martin, says each week he will focus on a different type of food: "The idea is to let people know how to prepare healthy interesting meals from scratch. I’m not interested in providing complicated dishes, I believe in doing simple dishes very well using good quality, local ingredients," explained.

Tesco has given the Council £2,000 to support the initiative.
