THE better weather has finally arrived and many of us will be out in our gardens carrying out the spring maintenance ahead of the summer barbeques.
With green bins now being filled to the brim with garden waste ready for composting, East Lindsey District Council is reminding residents that they should place their green waste directly into the green waste bin, without using a sack.
Waste Strategy Team Leader at the Council, Victoria Burgess, explained: "We have had some instances where people have presented green waste in black sacks inside their wheelie bin and this causes problems when the waste reaches the composting sites. There is no need to line the green bins, but if residents are worried about waste sticking in their bin, they are advised to use scrunched up newspapers in the bottom of the bin," she explained.
