Leisure project construction ramps up

THE much anticipated leisure project in Louth is fact becoming a reality as East Lindsey District Council nears completion of the pavilion at London Road and begins the next stage of preparation for the leisure centre at Wood Lane.
Next Monday (May 19, 2008) will see the works on Wood Lane stepping up a gear, with a programme of drainage and the installation of a traffic management system taking place over a 10-week period. Residents of Louth using Wood Lane should expect to see the following during that time:

  • May 19 for 2 weeks – Sewerage and drainage works along the verge of the playing field
  • June 2 for 8 weeks – traffic management system to be installed – including a roundabout, site entrance and cycle path onto and along the site.

East Lindsey District Council’s Project Manger, David Warden, explained: “Lincolnshire County Council and UCS Civils will oversee the works on site and will make every possible attempt to keep disruption to a minimum for residents and users of the road.”

He added, “The project is now moving apace and these works are vital to ensure that the site is ready for construction to begin in the summer. We are working closely with our contractors to keep residents and stakeholders well-informed as the work continues”.
Should residents wish to find out more about this exciting project, please visit the Council’s website on www.e-lindsey.gov.uk or contact their Customer Services Team on 08446 601111. Alternatively, why not take a look at the scale model of the leisure centre at the Customer Services Centre in Louth Town Hall.
