OLYMPIC swimmer, Lizzie Simmons, will be at Horncastle Pool on February 9, 2008, to encourage East Lindsey residents to take up swimming.

At 4pm a gala event will kick off with races for swimmers of all ages and abilities.  This will be followed with hot food and drinks.

Along with members of the Water Wise Swimming Team, Lizzie will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about the swimming lessons available at the pool.

The Pool’s Swimming Lessons Coordinator, Rachael Hewis, said: “Horncastle Pool offers swimming lessons to people of all abilities with a structured programme to allow those taking part to work towards the Amateur Swimming Association’s national plan.”

The gala will conclude with a fierce contest between the Otters Swimming Club and the Water Wise Swimmers when the two teams go head to head in a swim-off.
