DOG owners in East Lindsey will be able to put their pet’s poop into the district’s 700 street bins from April. The move comes as part of the Council’s drive to encourage responsible dog ownership.
In addition, Dog Wardens will be more visible across the district and CCTV operators will also be on the look out for those not clearing up after their pets.
Waste Enforcement Team Leader, Duncan Hollingworth, explained: "We are working hard to tackle the issue of dog fouling because it is a blight on our communities and dog owners need to take responsibility for their pets.
"By allowing dog mess to be put into street litter bins means dog owners have no excuse for leaving dog mess on our streets. It is down to everyone to tackle this issue and by working in partnership with the town and parish councils and local communities we can help to address this problem and make East Lindsey an even cleaner district, " he explained.
