FOR the first time in Skegness’ history Tower Gardens will be turned into an Outdoor Entertainment Centre this Easter, with an ice rink, climbing wall and a variety of workshops and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy at a reasonable price.
With businesses gearing up for the busy summer season ahead, East Lindsey District Council has organised the four days (March 21 to 24) of entertainment to give the resort an extra boost and provide both local people and visitors with some extra special family activities.
Leader of the District Council, Councillor Doreen Stephenson, said: "This event will be something different for the people of Skegness and another attraction for those visiting. By providing affordable entertainment we hope families will head for the coast and have a fantastic time in the town. We’re working with a good company and our own Community Development Team will be there throughout the weekend to ensure the event runs smoothly," she said.
The Ice Rink and Climbing Wall will cost £2 and £1.50 respectively; and will both be open each day from 10am until 5pm.
On the Sunday between 2pm and 4pm, Skegness Silver Band will perform a special concert as part of their 100th birthday celebrations and on Monday from 11am until 4pm, more free fun as Feet First entertainment bring Stilt walking, juggling and clowning, along with the chance to ‘have a go’ in the Circus Skills workshops between 12noon and 2pm.
