EAST Lindsey District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Culture, Leisure and the Environment, Councillor Adam Grist, said: “It was important that these residents had an opportunity to present a case for a Village Green. From the outset we’ve maintained that this site does not fall into this category and now an independent Inspector appointed by Lincolnshire County Council has confirmed this after examining evidence put forward by both the District Council and the Village Green applicants.
“The District Council is keen to push on and build the first class leisure and sports facility that will benefit many people in East Lindsey. Now that this process has come to an end we will start on site as soon as possible.”
Building work is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
