Fly Tipping
We have dealt with over one thousand Fly Tips in the last year. It totalled more than ten thousand man-hours to clear it all up and you can help to reduce this figure. See it Stop it.
Flytipping includes anything from one black bag on the side of the road to ten tonnes of rubble dumped down a quiet lane. If you see any fly tipping you can report it to us on the Free phone number 0800 195 5228.
Householders Duty of Care
As householders you also have a Duty of Care. If your rubbish is illegally deposited you could be fined up to £5,000.
You are legally responsible for disposing of your rubbish correctly. If someone else disposes of your rubbish for you, make sure you have their name, address, vehicle description and vehicle registration number.
Any person that takes payment for removing your rubbish must be licensed. Always ask to see a copy of their licence
If you are in any doubt as to whether someone is licensed you can check by telephoning the Environment Agency on 08708 506 506 or call us on 0800 195 5228 or email flytipping@e-lindsey.gov.uk

Removal
Fly tipping is the unauthorised deposit of waste on land, for example, a bag on the side of the highway or, items left in gateways or on footpaths . We will not remove fly tips from private land. This is landowner's responsibility, however we will investigate with permission.
Where we have been notified of fly tipped waste and enforcement issues have been dealt with, we aim to remove the waste within 4 working days.
