Council Tax Payments
You can pay your Council Tax bill by Direct Debit, over the Internet, by phone using a credit or debit card, at the Post Office or by Standing Order and Internet banking.
Direct Debit is simple, convenient and a secure way to pay. Set up your Direct Debit online. Alternatively, print the Direct Debit mandate [131kb] and return or call us on 01507 601111, selecting option four (Council Tax or Business Rates), followed by option three, during normal office hours and we'll do it there and then for you. Please have your Council Tax account number and bank details ready when you call.
Over the Internet
You can pay your bill using our secure Pay Online facility.
Credit or Debit Card
Ring FREEPHONE 0800 731 0540 to use our automated telephone payment service. You will need to have your Council Tax account number and card details ready. You can also contact us to make a card payment during working hours. Please ring 01507 601111 and select option two to make a payment. Please have your account number and card details ready.
You can pay free of charge at any Post Office. Simply hand your bill to the Postmaster with your payment.
Standing Order and Online Banking
To pay by Standing Order contact your bank. They will need to know the amounts to be paid, dates due and your Council Tax account number - these are all found on your bill. They will also need our bank details, which are:

12 Monthly Instalments
Did you know that you can pay your Council Tax over 12 months rather than the usual ten?
The full 12 instalments can only be given at the start of the financial year, where we have received sufficient notice. Where we cannot give 12, you will be given the maximum number of instalments to the end of the financial year. If you would like to opt in to the 12 month instalment plan, call us on 01507 601111 selecting option four, followed by option three, during normal office hours and we'll do it there and then for you. Please have your Council Tax account number when you call.
