We deal with a wide range of Safety and Health issues, which affect businesses in the District. We also act on behalf of the local and visiting population to ensure that employees of businesses and the general public are, as far as possible, entering a safe environment.

We advise and educate on matters of Employment and Public Safety within the area.

Our main duties:

• Inspect Commercial Premises
• Respond to Requests for Service from members of the public/business relating to health and safety issues.
• Investigate Reportable Accidents
• Carry out routine sampling to ensure safety in swimming pools and the local environment.
• Inspect premises for licensing/registration and local bylaws (e.g. animal welfare and acupuncture)
• Encourage Safe and Healthy living through health Promotion Initiatives
