Equality Impact Assessments will be conducted to include all of the Council’s services. Undertaking a Equality Impact Assessment entails the evaluation of all policies and functions provided by a service of the Council to understand the impact of the service upon equality and diversity.

The Equality Impact Assessments will help the Council act to change the way it operates in order to avoid passive or indirect discrimination through not properly considering the needs of all communities.

All of the Council’s functions and policies have been assessed for their relevance to Equality and Diversity. The results of this assessment have been used to prioritise which Equality Impact Assessments the Council will do first.
