The Council’s new Community Grants Scheme is now up and running with the first set of grants awarded in May 2009. There are two funding rounds per year where community groups, voluntary organisations and Parish Councils can apply for funding to support local projects.
Nine projects received support in round 1 and there is over £100,000 available to support projects in the second round. Community groups that need funding for projects that will take place in this financial year must apply before the second round closing date 6 August 2009.
The Council provides Small Grants up to £250 and Community Grants from £251 to £8,000. Both capital and revenue costs can be supported and the project can be for up to 3 years.
