You may ask a question at Council of the Leader, any Member of the Executive or the Chair of any Committee at an Ordinary meeting of the Council (a list of Committees and Portfolios is detailed below).
Your question needs to be sent to the Chief Executive (Mr Nigel Howells, Chief Executive, East Lindsey District Council, Tedder Hall, Manby Park, Louth, LN11 8UP) or by electronic mail to questions2council@e-lindsey.gov.uk no later than midday seven days before the day of the meeting, for example midday the Wednesday before a Council meeting on the following Wednesday. Your question must give the following details:
Your name and address;
Identify the office holder to whom it is to be put (the Leader, named Portfolio or Committee Chairman). Only one question per person may be submitted at any one meeting.
The East Lindsey District Council Constitution (a copy of which can be found on our website under Council and Democracy, Council Documents) sets out the procedures and it is important that you supply this information in order that we can take your question forward.
There are certain circumstances where the Chief Executive may reject a question:
(i) Does not relate to a matter of general interest; or
(ii) Does not relate to a matter for which the Council has responsibility or which affects the interests of the District; or
(iii) Relates exclusively to an individual grievance or personal issue; or
(iv) Is defamatory, offensive, or frivolous; or
(v) Is substantially the same as a question which has been put at a meeting of the Council within the previous six months; or
(vi) Requires the disclosure of exempt or confidential information.
