If you do not pay your Council Tax instalment you will be sent a reminder giving you 7 days to bring your account up to date.

We will take no further action if you bring your account up to date.

If you do not bring you account up to date we will ask the Magistrates’ Court to issue a summons, with additional costs being added to your account.

A 2nd Reminder will be sent to you if, after bringing your account up to date after the first reminder, you miss another instalment later on in the year.

A Final Notice will be sent to you if:

• You still owe Council Tax on a property you have left…
• You still owe Council Tax from a previous financial year…
• You miss an instalment again after already receiving two reminders…

You lose the right to pay by instalments if you receive a final notice and you will be asked to pay the whole balance.
