East Lindsey District Council's Dog Warden service is responsible for the collection of stray dogs, and when appropriate the enforcement of Dog Fouling legislation.
Promoting responsible dog ownership and appropriate education are also an important part of the service.
Approximately 250 stray dogs are collected each year, and a large percentage of these are claimed by their owners.
For more information on those that are not claimed, please visit the Lost Dogs link on Council's website.
The Dog Wardens are currently working with Police Community Support Officers and regularly conduct joint patrols. These are mainly two hour patrols, interacting with the public and giving advice. They are empowered to issue Fixed Penalty Notices for littering and fouling offences.
