Environmental Protection
 

The Environmental Protection service at East Lindsey District Council deals with a wide range of issues. They aim to ensure improved individual and community health and well-being for residents, visitors and businesses in the area. This is achieved by offering advice, education and enforcing environmental protection legislation within the District.

A dedicated team of officers carry out the following functions:

  • Investigating service requests regarding noise, air pollution, odour, dust, accumulations, drainage etc.
  • Licensing of caravan sites and investigation of complaints and routine inspections.
  • Routine inspections, renewal, variations and new permits for Local Authority Pollution Prevention and Control (LAPPC) and Local Authority Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (LA-IPPC).
  • Implementation of the contaminated land strategy and related enquiries.
  • Administration of the Local Air Quality Management scheme.
  • Consultations for planning applications.
  • Consultations for Public Entertainment Licences.
  • Organise burials where there are no relatives.
  • Organise education through health promotion Initiatives.
  • Pest control service.
