A-Z of Council Services:

Consulting or Appealing on a Planning Application

We will either notify your neighbours or put up a site notice on or near the site. Development Control has made available guidance for neighbours with information on how we consult on applications. In certain cases, applications are also advertised in the local newspaper.

We also carry out consultations with other interested parties, such as the local town or parish councils or highways. Please view our consultation guidance notes for more information on how to have your say on planning applications. Guidance notes for town and parish councils in respect of planning application notifications are also available.

You can use the online planning system to consult on applications. To do this, open the online planning system and search for the desired application - if consultation is available, a link will be provided at the bottom of the Application Details for you to place your comments.

For information on how to appeal against an application, you can visit the Planning Inspectorate website or the Planning Portal for advice on how to place your appeal.
