To increase the amount of decent homes being lived in by vulnerable households, grants are available to support schemes of work up to £5,000.
A Grant can be offered for:
- Bringing the property up to the minimum standard for housing (using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System)
- Providing a reasonable degree of thermal comfort.
- Bringing the property into a reasonable state of repair
- Providing modern facilities (where current facilities present a risk to the health and safety).
You will be eligible if you are:
- The property owner or tenant, and
- You are a vulnerable household at date of application.
Vulnerable household are defined as those on:
- Income support
- Housing benefit
- Council tax benefit
- Income based job seekers allowance
- Child tax credit (with income of less than £15,460)
- Working tax credit (with income of less than £15,460)
- Attendance allowance
- Disability living allowance
- Industrial injuries
- War disablement pension
- Pension credit (Guaranteed/Savings)
