Disabled Facilities Grant
 

Mandatory Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) of up to £30,000 are available to enable independent living, privacy, confidence and dignity for disabled people and other members of their household.

A grant can be for:

  • The facilitating of access and provision
  • Making a dwelling or building safe
  • Providing a room usable for sleeping
  • Provision of bathing facilities
  • Facilitating the preparation and cooking of food
  • The provision of heating, lighting and power

DFG’s are means tested which means that an applicant may have a contribution to make.

Applying

You can apply for a DFG following a referral from an Occupational Therapist. To request a visit from an Occupational Therapist please contact Lincolnshire County Council Social Services.

Applications must be supported by the following information:

  • An estimate for the cost of the works,
  • Proof of financial situation,
  • Proof of ownership and occupation for owners,
  • Consent from landlords for tenants confirming intent for future occupation.
Confirmation that you intend to stay at the property for 5 years after the works are completed.
