Bowls
12 Bowling Greens are provided by East Lindsey District Council with 8 on the Foreshore, Skegness (operated by our Resorts and Open Spaces team), 1 at Pleasure Gardens, Sutton on Sea (privately operated), 1 at Queens Park, Mablethorpe (privately operated), 1 at Charles Street, Louth (operated by our Sports Facilities team) and 1 at Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa (currently operated by our Sports Facilities team).
All greens are maintained by our in house Parks and Gardens greenkeepers irrespective of how they are operated.
Maintenance standards are high, producing tournament quality greens with a uniform specification across all 12, with their quality checked by the Sports Turf Research Institute whose advisor holds them amongst the very best he visits.
Private bowls clubs provide a further 20 outdoor and 4 indoor bowling greens across the district - for details see our A to Z of sports and activities.
Putting Greens
1 Putting Green at Queens Park, Mablethorpe (privately operated), 1 Putting Green at Charles Street, Louth (operated by our Sports Facilities team) and 1 Putting Green at Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa (currently operated by our Sports Facilities team) are provided by East Lindsey.
All the putting greens are maintained by our Parks and Gardens greenkeepers to a standard that allows all the casual users the opportunity to play on greens that run reasonably true and broadly consistent.
Other putting greens and crazy golf courses are provided privately on the Foreshore, Skegness, Pleasure Gardens, Sutton on Sea, Queens Park, Mablethorpe and North Gardens, Mablethorpe.
Tennis
Tennis Courts are provided at Pleasure Gardens, Sutton on Sea (operated by our Sports management team as part of the MACA facility), Queens Park, Mablethorpe (privately operated), Charles Street, Louth (operated by our Sports Facilities Team) and Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa (operated by Woodhall Spa Tennis Club).
These courts are maintained in a safe condition with their hard surfaces inspected to ensure their compliance with the rules of the game.
Private tennis clubs provide a further 9 courts across the district - for details see our A to Z of sports and activities.
Winter Sports
Football pitches are provided at Wainfleet Road Playing Fields, Skegness and Wood Lane Playing Fields, Louth and are operated by our Sports Facilities team.
Playing surfaces and goals are maintained by the Parks and Gardens team to ensure safe and level pitches in the optimum condition possible in current drainage conditions. Pitches are marked out in accordance with the laws of the game and maintained all season.
Rugby pitches are provided at Wainfleet Road Playing Fields, Skegness for the use of Skegness Rugby Club. These are maintained by our Parks and Gardens team, again to ensure safe, level pitches in accordance with the laws of the game. Bookings are taken by our Sports Facilities team.
Cricket
One cricket pitch is provided by East Lindsey on Wood Lane Playing Fields, Louth and operated by our Sports Facilities team.
The Nottsport artificial pitch is maintained by our Parks and Gardens team to ensure a consistent, safe wicket for use throughout the summer. The outfield is managed as a playing field but with a weekly frequency of cut to ensure its suitability for this use.
