NINETEEN community projects have received financial support through East Lindsey District Council’s Community Grant Scheme.

The scheme offers two different types of grants; Small Grants of up to £250 are available to groups that have smaller and less expensive projects to undertake and larger Community Grants are available to those that have slightly more complex projects that require a greater level of support.

The District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Rural Services and Partnerships, Councillor Edward Mossop, said: “The diverse array of projects supported, small and large, are all wonderful examples of local organisations being active and passionate in supporting their community, even during these difficult economic times. The Grants Panel was overwhelmed with the levels of interest in the scheme, and with all the fantastic community led projects being delivered in the district.

“We are delighted to have been able to support the 19 successful groups which will bring additional benefits and opportunities to the district”

Throughout 2010, the scheme has awarded approximately £162,000 to Community Groups in support of 52 projects.
