A NEW date has been set by the County Court for the hearing into the breach of Planning Regulations on the former Parade Complex site on Grand Parade in Skegness.
East Lindsey District Council has applied for a Planning Injunction to give it additional power to prevent operations of the type now on the site from using it without permission.
On August 13, the case was due to be heard at Lincoln County Court but was adjourned and a new date of October 27, 2010 set by court. The Hearing will now be heard at Nottingham County Court.
Portfolio Holder for Planning, Councillor Neil Cooper, said: “The Council is disappointed the hearing couldn’t have taken place sooner but we’re continuing with the enforcement action to try and prevent this breach of planning on this site, and any future breaches. We know there is strong feeling in Skegness about the unauthorised operation continuing to trade without planning permission and I reassure people that the District Council is using the powers it has available to resolve matters as quickly as possible.
Councillor Cooper went on to say he feels extremely sorry for those businesses that do comply with planning rules and regulations and pay their business rates that are clearly being undermined by this type of unauthorised development.
