Groups across the UK have just four weeks left to enter a TV Lottery funding competition that could see them winning up to £60,000 to improve their communities in time for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year, 2012.
The Jubilee People’s Millions is a Big Lottery Fund scheme run in partnership with ITV and with the approval of Buckingham Palace.
Sixty Lottery grants are up for grabs across the UK from a £3.6million funding pot, with four awards being made in each of the 15 ITV regions.
The competition is open to groups with ideas for community-based projects that improve places or the lives of local people.
This summer, a shortlist of projects will be showcased on ITV regional news and the public will vote to decide which projects receive the funding. The winning schemes will be up and running in time for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year, 2012.
The deadline for entries is 4 February 2011. Details of how to apply can be found on www.biglotteryfund.org.uk or by phoning 0845 10 20 30.
Anna Southall, Interim Chair of the Big Lottery Fund, said: “Groups now have just four weeks left to get their entries in to The Jubilee People’s Millions competition. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get funding for projects in your area that are going to make a real difference to local people.”
