A CARAVAN Park in Ingoldmells has been successful in the David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme for its continuing improvements focused on sustainability and ecological management.
In the last 12 months Kingfisher Caravan Park, run by East Lindsey District Council, has made the improvements for the benefit of both park users and the local environment.
The Park is home to around 1500 people for ten months of the year and has over 700 static caravans that are privately owned.
The improvements that have been made include creating better habitats for wildlife to thrive with bird boxes and wildlife areas, ensuring caravans are of a good standard through the ‘Quality in Tourism Awards’ assessments, plus the installation of better onsite recycling facilities. The park has also provided training opportunities to young people in the area through a work experience programme.
Park Manager, Maxeen Andrew, explained: “We are working hard to improve Kingfisher Caravan Park and the changes we’ve made in the last year have made it a more enjoyable place for people to spend their leisure time.”
