A FUN health programme for young people is returning to Mablethorpe and Skegness from May.
FAB Kids, is a programme run by East Lindsey District Council, with funds from NHS Lincolnshire, to educate young people about the importance of eating a healthy and balanced diet and taking regular exercise. FAB stands for Fit Active Bodies.
The FAB Kids programme is aimed at those aged between 7 and twelve.
GPs, parents and school nurses can all refer young people onto the programme and by doing so the young person is expected to commit to attend two sessions each week for the 12 weeks they're signed up. The sessions are free to attend.
Each session allows young people to better understand food and enjoy exercise.
Sessions take place as follows:
Skegness - The Skegness sessions will take place at the Embassy Swimming Pool and Fitness Suite each Monday and Wednesday starting on May 9. The sessions both take place between 4pm and 5pm.
Mablethorpe - The Mablethorpe sessions will take place at Station Sports Centre each Tuesday and Thursday starting on May 10. The sessions both take place between 4pm and 5pm.
East Lindsey District Council hopes that once the course is over, those taking part will join a local club, perhaps to do a sport or learn to dance, so they can continue to build their confidence and enjoy exercise on a regular basis.
