East Lindsey District Council has activated its severe weather protocol for anyone sleeping rough in the District.

The District Council will try to help rough sleepers with access to short term accommodation and if required provide anyone found to be sleeping rough with sleeping bags and food parcels.

Portfolio Holder for Housing, Councillor John Upsall, explained: “Although we don’t think East Lindsey has many people sleeping rough, we know there are some and we need to support them. We help vulnerable people throughout the year to access accommodation but during the winter it is even more important to help people to access somewhere warm and dry to sleep.”

Anyone who knows of someone sleeping rough should contact East Lindsey District Council on 01507 601111. If you’re sleeping rough, please visit your nearest East Lindsey District Council Customer Service Centre.
