There are only a few days now until the opening of East Lindsey’s new state-of-the-art 12m Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth on February 6, 2010 at 8am and already there is a feeling of excitement in the community.
East Lindsey District Council is urging anyone wishing to use the Fitness Suite to make sure they book in for an induction, which is essential before using the new fitness equipment. Inductions are free if you join as a member and are already taking place and by booking your induction now you will get a sneak preview of the Centre before the opening day. If you wish to use the Fitness Suite casually, the induction is 18.
Fitness Manager at the Meridian Leisure Centre, Chris Coveley, explained: “The Fitness Suite has some of the best and most advanced equipment available anywhere in the country. It has built in technology that enables each piece of equipment to monitor your performance and measure your progress. For this reason it is important that we give all users of the Fitness Suite an induction before they use it for the first time so the system can be set up and you know how all the equipment works.”
Chris continued: “We’ve done a lot of inductions already and everyone has been taken back by the size of the Centre and the quality of the equipment we have on offer. I’m sure the opening weekend will be a busy one, which is why we want people to get their induction booked as soon as possible.”
As well as the 80 station Fitness Suite, the Meridian Leisure Centre includes a 25m eight lane pool with moveable floor; sauna and steam room; child care facility with outdoor and indoor play areas; a leisure pool with flume and other features; a sports hall and multi-purpose room; dance studios; an IT suite and exhibition space; a cafe and social area; plus outdoor changing rooms and car park and cycle bays.
Memberships are on sale for £32.50 per month and for this you can use the swimming pool; fitness suite; sauna and steam room and have free access to the spinning, aquacise and aerobic classes.
