Date set for Mablethorpe’s 2010 Illuminations event
A DATE has been agreed for the 2010 Mablethorpe Illuminations event and local people and business in the town are being asked to put it in their diaries.
After discussions between Mablethorpe Town Council and East Lindsey District Council it has been agreed that the event will take place on Saturday, July 31, 2010. This is a change from the usual Sunday evening, as it was felt that many people may be on their way home at the end of the weekend. It is hoped that by moving the event to Saturday, even more young people and families will visit the town and enjoy for the special occasion.
The full details of the programme are currently being worked up but the Mayor of Mablethorpe, Councillor Helen Parkhurst, said she is looking forward to it already: “Each year this evening is very special in Mablethorpe because it provides an exciting opportunity for people to come together to enjoy an evening of free, fun, family entertainment. I’m sure this year’s event will be just as exciting as ever.”
