The strategy considers East Lindsey’s transport role within a national, regional and County context together with issues raised within transport surveys, face to face meetings and public meetings. The main issues raised were the needs to:
- Promote and publicise the existing transport services
- Promote a need for an integrated and sustainable transport service
- Provide accessible and equitable transport services
- Encourage the use of public transport to reduce car usage
- Promote transport services to reduce social exclusion
- Facilitate and support the development of new services
- Improve the consideration of transport within the planning system
To tackle these identified needs, the Council’s overall aim for the future development of transport services is:-
“To facilitate the development of a wide range of sustainable transport services which are accessible to all sections of the community and to improve the quality of life of residents whilst protecting the environment of the district”
