February 1, 2019

A recruitment fair took place in Mablethorpe on January 25, 2019, attended by 265 job seekers.

The event was run by Job Centre Plus in collaboration with East Lindsey District Council. Some of the area's biggest employers were in attendance.

The Council's Portfolio Holder for Coastal Economy, Councillor Steve Kirk, said: "I think this jobs fair has been very successful.  I'm pleased job seekers from the area took the chance to attend and explore the jobs on offer locally."

Prize of a small biscuit hamper for the first business to offer a job and have it accepted by a job seeker on the day was Lincolnshire Aquapark (Mablethorpe). Within the first hour, the Managing Director, Richard Smith, had been able to appoint a qualified Lifeguard: "The jobs fair is an event I attend annually because it allows me the opportunity to seek the best local potential employees. I find it beneficial to employ local people. I like to offer work in a fun filled, appealing environment."

Peter Hayes, Employment Advisor at Job Centre Plus was on hand to offer local employers advice and support.

Peter said: "This year's event was well supported by employers who stated that the event is vital to people finding and gaining fulfilling employment.  Those seeking employment appreciated the central location, the ease of access and the wide variety of vacancies available on the day."

The next Jobs Fair will take place on Wednesday, February 20, at the Embassy Theatre, Skegness, between 10.30am and 2.30pm.
