Covid-19 Business Support Grant opens to East Lindsey businesses this week

November 16, 2020

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG), aimed at supporting businesses who have had to close due to the current national lockdown, will open for applications from midday (12pm) on Tuesday, 17 November.

The grant has been made available by Government to businesses, which pay business rates, that are required by law to close due to the current restrictions. We are urging businesses to ensure they are eligible before making an application to the fund which can be done on the Government's website: www.gov.uk/guidance/check-if-your-business-is-eligible-for-a-coronavirus-grant-due-to-national-restrictions-for-closed-businesses.

Those businesses eligible for the grant will receive the following amounts, based upon their business' rateable value:

  • For properties with a rateable value of £15k or under, grants to be £1,334 per four weeks;
  • For properties with a rateable value of between £15k-£51k grants to be £2,000 per four weeks;
  • For properties with a rateable value of £51k or over grants to be £3,000 per four weeks.

The application form will be available from www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/CVBusinessGrants at midday on 17 November; to apply eligible businesses will need to have their business rates account number, property reference number and a scan of their business bank account/statement header (with account details and address). Once a business has successfully completed an application, they will receive a unique 16-digit reference number and confirmation email, with payment to be made no later than 10 working days after the application has been submitted.

Councillor Adam Grist, Portfolio Holder for Rural Economy and Market Towns, said: "I know that this lockdown has caused concern for a number of our businesses that have been required to close, so I'm pleased that we have been able to quickly establish the application process for this important grant. I would encourage those businesses who believe they are eligible to check the criteria online and then, if they are eligible, to submit an application as soon as they can once the grant opens on Tuesday."

More information about the LRSG is available at www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/CVBusinessGrants.  Enquiries about the scheme should be directed to lrsg@e-lindsey.gov.uk and businesses who are unable to complete an online application form should call 01507 601111.
