New market trader incentive launched for Spilsby, Louth and Horncastle

April 30, 2021

A new incentive scheme has been launched to inspire new traders to take a stall at one of our council-run markets in East Lindsey.

Under this new scheme we would like to offer any new traders free stall rent until 11th July 2021 on our Spilsby, Louth and Horncastle markets. This incentive is intended to offer a relatively low cost way for a business to test the water and see if people like the product on offer. Market trading is a simple and flexible way to not only start running your own business but is also used by established businesses as a means of promoting their products to a different audience.

The scheme is being launched in line with the re-opening of our High Streets as part of step two of the Government roadmap following the closure of many of our markets and businesses from the Covid-19 pandemic. Esther Belton, Operations Support Manager for Markets said "The traders have been very happy to return to the markets and be able to support the vibrancy of the market towns once again. It is now time to encourage new traders onto the markets and for them to take advantage of the rent free period which the District Council is offering all traders. We look forward to welcoming new businesses over the coming weeks and have a great selection due to start already including wood fired pizza, fabrics, confectionery, handmade wooden products and a butchers so please visit and see what the markets have to offer." Owls the Fabrics Shop

Frans Ismangil from Owls Fabrics has taken advantage of the offer and said "We are delighted to be able to expand our current business by means of Louth market on a Friday and Saturday. The free stall rent has enabled this to be done at very little cost and hopefully it's something we can continue with customers support".

Anyone interested in this offer should email the Markets team at East Lindsey District Council at or telephone 01507 613532.
