Love Your Local Market - At the Heart of Your Community

Show some love! East Lindsey District Council's markets are joining over 700 markets across the country taking part in Love Your Local Market, a two‐week-long national campaign led by the National Association of British Market Authorities celebrating the important role markets play within local communities.

Love Your Local Market runs from Saturday 16th to 30th October and is designed to encourage new traders to give the markets a go and local communities to support their local market. With entertainment planned, traders giving away various goodie bags why not visit your local market on Love Your Local Market fortnight and see what the traders have to offer. You are sure of a warm welcome and unique customer service.


As part of the Love Your Local Market celebrations, East Lindsey District Council is offering new traders the opportunity of eight stalls for the price of four on the markets at Spilsby, Horncastle and Louth.


Sarah Lamballe of Bricktree Gallery (pictured) who has already signed up to take part in the Love Your Local Market new trader offer said "This is an excellent opportunity for us to see if the markets work for our business. We will be able to showcase local artists and crafts to a new audience and also encourage shoppers to visit our lovely gallery in Caistor."  


The popular Districts Favourite Market Trader 2021 competition will take place once again with the public voting online for their favourite market trader at either Louth, Horncastle, Spilsby, Wainfleet All Saints, Mablethorpe or Alford. The winning trader will be announced in November and be awarded eight free stalls, a winner of the year stall banner and a special markets award.


Councillor Adam Grist, Portfolio Holder for Market Towns and Rural Economy, said: "We are proud to be part of a campaign aimed at raising awareness around our wonderful markets. They are an essential part of our community, providing great opportunities to bring communities together and support local economic development. I urge anyone interested in trying their hand at running a small business to sign up and give it a go taking full advantage of our great offers we have for new stall holders."
