Have your say on Council Tax Support in East Lindsey

Residents are being asked for their views on the local Council Tax Support Scheme for 2023/24.

We are seeking views on our proposed scheme through a consultation which is taking place between November 3 and December 16, 2022.

The proposal is to keep the Council Tax Support Scheme the same for 2023/24 as it is in 2022/23, whilst also up-rating and harmonising our scheme for working age claimants in line with the Department for Work and Pensions provisions for Housing Benefit. This will apply to all Council Tax Support claimants and will keep the local Council Tax Support scheme aligned with national welfare provisions.

Retaining the main characteristics of our current Council Tax Support scheme means there will be no major changes to the support a customer would receive.

Portfolio Holder for Finance, Councillor Richard Fry, said: "We're inviting residents to have their say on our proposed Council Tax Support Scheme for the coming financial year, so we can take an informed decision on how the scheme operates. By maintaining the characteristics of the scheme we can help keep the process consistent at a time when we are all faced with a degree of uncertainty."

Residents are encouraged to complete the consultation online by visiting before December 16, 2022. Paper copies can be requested by calling 01507 601111.
