A Council statement on the works taking place on land at Northfields in Louth
Councillor Tom Ashton, Portfolio Holder for Planning, has issued the following statement regarding the works taking place on land at Northfields in Louth:
"The Council has been made aware of works being undertaken on land at "Northfields" to the West of the A16 at Louth.
We believe they are undertaking site clearance and survey work; such works are unlikely to require planning permission. However, the Councils Planning Enforcement Team are aware, and will investigate and monitor activity in accordance with our adopted procedures.
The Council are aware that these works are likely to be connected with emerging proposals which have the potential to bring forward re-development of the site for a range of uses. These are being brought forward by private individuals, and are likely to be subject to a formal application which the Council believes it will receive early in 2023.
As with all emerging proposals, the nature of the proposals and approach to engagement with the community are a matter for the proposer at the current time. However we hope that the submission will be made on a comprehensive basis, including with early engagement with the community having taken place to shape the proposals.
As this is not a live application, we cannot comment further on any proposals, as that would be to speculate on the scheme; which would no doubt be accompanied by a range of information and would require input from specialist bodies.
Should an application be received, it will be consulted on publicly, considered against the East Lindsey Local Plan and determined in accordance with planning law, with a decision likely to be made by the Planning Committee."
