February 9, 2018

SOME of the organisations involved in running Skegness as a visitor resort have met today to share their plans for the 2018 season and to also discuss some of the challenges Skegness faces.

The meeting, organised by East Lindsey District Council, saw representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, Destination Business Improvement District, Town Council and Town Partnership discuss projects and events that will help boost the town's economy in the coming months.

Portfolio Holder for Coastal Economy at the District Council, Councillor Steve Kirk, said: "This was the first meeting and we agreed to meet regularly going forward to ensure we're sharing ideas, discussing opportunities and looking at where we can collaborate for the benefit of the economy of the town and the community."

Lisa Collins, the Manager of the Destination Business Improvement District, said: "This is about communication and ensuring organisations understand what one another is doing so we can align priorities and work together to deliver greater impacts."
