Age Friendly East Lindsey

In September 2019 East Lindsey became a member of the UK Network of Age Friendly Communities

"An Age-friendly Community is a place where people of all ages are able to live healthy and active later lives. These places make it possible for people to continue to stay living in their homes, participate in the activities that they value, and contribute to their communities, for as long as possible." In November 2021 East Lindsey was successful in becoming a member of the WHO Global Network of Age Friendly Cities & Communities.

"The WHO Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities was established in 2010 to connect cities, communities and organizations worldwide with the common vision of making their community a great place to grow old in." East Lindsey is part of a growing global movement of communities, cities and other sub-national levels of government that are striving to better meet the needs of their older residents. By joining the WHO Global Network, East Lindsey commits to sharing and promoting the values and principles central to the WHO Age-friendly approach. East Lindsey District Council continues to work with local communities and partner organisations to improve the social and built environment for older people now and in the future.
