Local Restrictions Support Grant

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) will be made available to eligible businesses in the District that are impacted directly by the four week National lockdown. In a similar way to the Small Business Grant/ Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Funds which were delivered earlier this year, the grant will be available to rated operating businesses/ hereditaments (to qualify, a hereditament must be rated as of 05/11/20) that are required by law to close due to restrictions. Details of businesses required to close are available on the Government's website and you can check your eligibility for the LRSG on the Government website too.

Eligible hereditaments will receive the following grant payment (please note: grants will be awarded based on a hereditament's rateable value and any reliefs subsequently applied to an account will not impact eligibility):

  • For properties with a rateable value of exactly £15k or under, grants to be £1,334 per four weeks;
  • For properties with a rateable value of over £15k and under £51k, grants to be £2,000 per four weeks;
  • For properties with a rateable value of exactly £51k and over, grants to be £3,000 per four weeks.

The Government is also making provision for businesses that do not qualify for LRSG support, although the 'discretionary' element (the 'Additional Restrictions Grant') is unlikely to be available to apply for until January 2021. Please note: these timescales are not definitive and subject to change.

All eligible businesses/hereditaments will be required to make new applications - applications to previous schemes will not be considered for the new funds.

We are now accepting applications and a link to the application form can be found below. To complete your form you will need your business rates account numberproperty reference number and a scan of your business' bank account/statement header (with account details and address). When completing your application, where asked for your bank account name, please ensure to use the name of the account on your bank statement and NOT your bank provider.

Once you have successfully completed your application, you will receive a unique 16 digit reference number and confirmation email (which should be used in any correspondence).
