Compliments, Complaints & Feedback

Make a complaint to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR)

You are also able to make a complaint to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

You can complain to BSR about:

  • registered building inspectors and registered building control approvers
  • local authority building control in England
  • BSR itself

For high-rise residential buildings in England, you can also complain to BSR about:

  • issues in the building that could lead to fire spreading
  • issues in the building that could lead to part or all of the building collapsing
  • issues with fire safety or structural integrity in the building that is being designed, built or renovated
  • accountable persons and the principal accountable person

Complaints about the building you live in

If you are a resident in England and want to complain about the building you live in, first raise your issue with a person accountable for building safety. For example, the building's landlord or management company. Use this service if they have not dealt with your issue.

What you cannot use this service for

BSR cannot respond to questions or give advice about:

  • compliance with the building regulations
  • building control applications in England, before an application has started

Do not use this service to report concerns about anti-social behaviour or the general cleanliness of a building. Report these issues to your landlord or management company.
